Just a middle-brow reader who loves a good story, recipe or how-to.
YA Science Fiction that focuses on action and the skills of the main character, no love triangle or insta-love in sight? YES! Does the world building excel? No, but perhaps the author held some aspects back for the 2nd and 3rd books.
What did Earth Girl have going for it?
Interesting lead character with faults
Action sequences and plausible crisis situations
What held it back?
Incomplete world building
Slightly rushed feel at times
Frankly, I can't remember any other major drawbacks. It is a solid entry in the SciFi category for YA and an enjoyable read.
